Wharfedale Beer Festival is run entirely by volunteers in conjunction with the Wharfedale Charitable Trust, and is generously supported by our corporate sponsors.  Other than legitimate expenses including hall hire, beer, glassware and marketing collateral such as the costs of producing the tasting notes, the overwhelming majority of the income raised will go direct to charity.

In 2019 our primary goal once again, is to raise money for non-profit organisations and needy causes throughout the Upper Wharfedale area.  This year there are three key areas that we are looking to support;

Community Transport Links

The Wharfedale Packhorse; a new volunteer led, demand responsive, weekend evening community bus service linking pubs and eateries in Upper Wharfedale with Skipton and Ilkley via Grassington. Last year we donated £2500 to the Packhorse and £1000 to Dalesbus.

Junior Sports Development

Local volunteers coach and manage the junior sections of the three main sports clubs in the area; Upper Wharfedale Cricket Club, Wharfedale Rugby Club and Grassington Juniors Football Club. Last year we donated £1250 to the cricket club, rugby club and  football club.

Tourism Safety Organisations

Upper Wharfedale Fell Rescue Association (UWFRA) and the Yorkshire Air Ambulance (YAA).  Both these volunteer led emergency services organisations rely entirely upon public donations for their funding. Last year we donated £1750 and £1000 respectively.

In addition to these core beneficiaries, we hope to have enough funds left over to be able to make donations to and other worthwhile causes in Upper Wharfedale. Last year this included £1000 to Grassington Town Hall and £350 each to our local primary schools, £250 to the Dales Playgroup and £500 to our local high school.

With your help we hope to exceed last year's profit figure of £12500 and thank you for in anticipation of your attendance.
