Wharfedale Beer Festival 2019

This year's festival is being held on Friday 11 - Saturday 12 November at the Grassington Devonshire Institute; known locally as the "Town Hall".

 

Grassington Town Hall

The Town Hall, marked number 2 on the adjacent street map, can be found towards the top of Main Street, a short distance up the hill from the Foresters Arms public house in the centre of Grassington.

BUSES 

Festival bus links to Grassington

Double decker festival buses linking Grassington centre with train stations at both Skipton and Ilkley will operate daily from 11.10am until 00.35am.

 

Buses will also run onto Buckden and back calling at villages in between.

 

You can buy bus tickets from the driver at either end, though advanced bookings online are advisable and ticket holders have priority.

Festival bus routes

The Skipton bus will run from the train station, calling at Skipton High Street. Approx journey time 25 mins.  The Ilkley bus will run from the train station calling at Addingham Main Stree.  Approx journey time 35 mins.

 

All buses terminate at the YDNPA car park which is a few minutes walk from Grassington Town Hall.

TRANSPORT

Travelling by train to Skipton/Ilkley

The nearest train stations are Skipton (9 miles from Grassington) and Ilkley (18 miles).


Both have regular services to Leeds, Bradford  (around 30 mins) and other mainline stations.

Day time scheduled buses services

Keighley Bus Company also operates a limited scheduled daily bus service from Skipton to Grassington. 

 

The Wharfedale Venturer runs between Buckden and Grassington.

DRIVING

& PARKING

Travelling to Grassington by road

From Leeds take the A65/A59 to Skipton; From Manchester take the M65 to Colne and then the A65 to Skipton.  From Harrogate take the the A59 to Skipton.  From Clitheroe take the A59 to Skipton.  From Skipton follow the B6265 to Grassington.


Parking in Grassington

There is a free public car park and overspill car parking above the Town Hall and the YDNPA car and coach park, which is pay and display and about 5 minutes from the Town Hall. The SATNAV address is Hebden Road, Grassington, North Yorkshire BD23 5LB.  There are public toilets within the YDNPA car park.
